Rayburn Student Center

The Sam Rayburn Student Center (RSC) opened in 2009, and is named in honor of the University’s most accomplished alumnus, Samuel Taliaferro Rayburn.

Rayburn, 43rd Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, was a three-time House speaker, former House majority leader, two-time House minority leader, and a 24-term congressman. He represented Texas's 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1913 to 1961.

The RSC is the Heart of Campus and offers many student resources, including the Texas Bookstore, Lion's Mane Cafe, Chick-fil-A, Lion's Lair, and the Club on the first floor.

On the second floor are the Student Engagement Suite and the Intercultural Engagement and Leadership Suite, which offer students various ways to participate in campus life activities and opportunities for growth.

Also on the second floor, you will find the Events & Operations Suite, where you can reserve one of the many meeting rooms available on the second floor of the RSC as well as other facilities on campus.

It was enjoyable and informative. Dr. Martindale has the relevant experience and expertise to become a successful dean of the College of Education. Including his fundraising experience and skill in communicating with both the administration and the faculty makes him a perfect candidate for us.
