The month of April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month- an annual campaign dedicated to raising public awareness and educating communities on their rights, responsibilities, and how they can prevent sexual violence in their communities.

Walk A Mile in Their Shoes is a campus walk and presentation designated to raise awareness, commemorate victims, and empower survivors.

Meet us at 11am on Friday, April 5th, in front of the Sam Raburn Memorial Statue, right outside of the Rayburn Student Center Atrium. Join us in creating awareness on a walk straight trough the heart of campus, to Ferguson Social Sciences auditorium. There, you will hear from survivors, meet campus and community resource liaisons, and strengthen your understanding of what it is like to walk in a survivors’ shoes.

Light refreshments will be provided following the short presentation, and students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to mingle with representatives from our campus and community resource options!

The Office of Student Advocacy & Support houses university-designated victim advocates who work with those members of our community impacted by sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and more.
