Get the Dictionary: Navigating General Reference Databases

Wednesdays @ Waters Library presents "Get the Dictionary: Navigating General Reference Databases"

General reference databases can help you find definitions or quick bits of information about a topic you are researching. They are also a very useful first step in determining what may be interesting to study and include in a research project or finding information to help with smaller assignments. This workshop will go through a selection of general reference databases including CREDO and Oxford Reference to show you how to navigate the databases and demonstrate how you can answer your questions to explore deeper in your research interests.

By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify basic/general reference databases
  • Use general reference topics to gain better understanding and expand on your research
