Book in Common Author Address: Lauren Redniss

Lauren Redniss, Author
Radioactive:  A Story of Love and Fallout
2019 Book In Common

Please join us for an Author Address on Monday, October 14, 2019, at 6 p.m. in the Ferguson Auditorium with Lauren Redniss, the author of this year’s Book in Common:  Radioactive:  A Story of Love and Fallout. Our freshmen have been busy reading and discussing themes from this Pulitzer-nominated graphic novel, and we hope that you will join us in the excitement of hearing from the author about the real-life story of Marie Curie, her discovery of radium and the implications of this scientific development. Free copies of the book are being given away to the first 40 faculty and staff members (inquire with Bethany Ferrall in Career Development). The book is on reserve in Gee Library and also for sale in the university bookstore. To request ADA accommodations, please communicate needs seven days before the activity or program you plan to attend by calling The University College at 903.886.5878.

It was really great to learn about Lauren Redniss's unique process for creating her art. Very inspiring.
