4th Annual Mental Health Matters guest speaker - J. R. Martinez

J. R. Martinez, Actor, Best-Selling Author, Motivational Speaker, Advocate & Wounded U.S. Army Veteran will be on campus as the keynote presenter for the 4th Annual Mental Health Matters week. Martinez is the author of the New York Times best-selling book “Full of Heart: My Story of Survival, Strength, and Spirit. “

Martinez played “Brot Monroe,” a combat veteran who was injured in Iraq and returned home to face new challenges of reintegrating to civilian life, on the Emmy Award-winning ABC Daytime drama “All My Children.”

J.R. and dancing partner Karina Smirnoff won the coveted mirror ball trophy on Season 13 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

J.R. will share his personal story in a keynote presentation “Illuminating the Journey from Trauma to Hope.”
